I have a 2021 Ford Edge ST. Over the past year and a half (since I purchased it), I have occasionally received this message when truning off the engine: "System Off to Save Battery." Lately, however (past couple of weeks), I get this message more frequently (actually, most of the time now). Is this a normal function, perhaps based on outside temperature? It's been a bit colder than normal here in Denver this past month.
No problem starting the car. The battery appears strong, reads normal voltage with engine off, and strong charging voltage when running (although I have not done a thorough load test of the battery).
Any insight would be appreciated.

LesF - Did you ever get a response to this issue. I have a 2022 Ford Edge St and the same type of issue is beginning to occur.

Thanks
Jeff

I had the SAME problem for a few months. It was the battery. Ford dealership checked it out and replaced the battery because it was still under warranty.

Same problem, but I did not take to the dealer as I didn’t want another Ford battery. I replaced with an Omega battery. My son in law had the same issue with his 2021 Expedition (short battery life). I thought both of us having similar battery issues seems a bit of a stretch unless Ford had a “problem” with their battery provider. So we both opted out of the factory replacement.

Just picked my Edge up from dealer with the same issue. They said if your battery ever gets low it trips the programming. You will not get rid of this problem till they tell it your battery is good. Thinking BS
Also, my Auto Stop/Start does not work. They said this is because of the code in battery module that needs to be reset. Drove home from dealer and it still does not work.

2021 ST: original battery.

I've been getting the "system off" message A LOT lately, and sometimes I would get in the car after a remote start and the screen would be entirely black until I drive it for a moment, then it comes on. Auto stop/start hasn't been functioning for months now. The car would not start via the app because it was always "in power save mode" or something like that; I always had to use the key fob to remote-start. The door chime was not coming through the vehicle speakers, but only the little buzzer box behind the dashboard, so all the in-car chimes were tinny and cheap-sounding.

Installed a new battery today, and everything just works again, 100% like new. And I didn't even have any need to reset the BMC; I did all the research about how to reset it, but the car didn't even care. I guess it's just happy to have a fresh battery.
